I am a software engineer at Siemens Energy’s SIEAERO, a corporate startup that digitalizes and inspects powerlines from aerial imagery using computer vision and machine learning methods. I am working on different aspects of the project, including software design, web development, DevOps (operating an on-premises Kubernetes cluster and customer deployments), and data engineering (processing and handling of our petabyte-scale datasets).
Previously, I did a PhD in automated aerial inspection of utility-scale photovoltaic plants and spent some time working at A*Star SIMTech in Singapore.
In my spare time, I enjoy taking long walks in the forest or riding my mountainbike.
Recently, I have been building cronstamp.com together with my younger cousin. The project provides a web API for tamper-proof timestamping of documents.
